Reminders from the Front Office

Important Information:

1. Kindergarten Registration Event"Pumping Up for Kindergarten" will take place on Thursday, March 21st from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. This event will be at North Smyrna Elementary School, but it is for ALL upcoming Kindergartners. Please share with anyone that you know who has an upcoming Kindergartener. Thanks for your help spreading the word. It's really important to register in a timely manner.

2. We will be participating in the "Rock Your Socks" event on March 21st. Every year, people all around the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks. Hope you will join by wearing your mismatched socks.

3. There is no school for students on Thursday, March 28th for an In-Service Day.

4SPRING BREAK- There is no school for students from Friday, March 29th through Sunday, April 7th. 

5. Please check your child's bookbag for the Joe Corbi's fundraiser from the PTO. Sales end on Monday, March 25th and the delivery date will be at Sunnyside on April 23rd.  More information to come from the PTO on pickup time.

6. Birthday Snacks- If you choose to send in a birthday item for your child's classroom, please make sure that it is a small snack. An example of a small snack would be cupcakes, cookies, etc. Another option is a non-edible small item. It is also important that you ask your child's teacher, prior to sending in the snack, as we need to make sure that the item is allergy safe. We do require a peanut-free and/or nut-free sticker on cupcakes. Thanks for your help.

7. Reminder- Students being dropped off at school after 8:45 will be marked late and must be signed in by the adult responsible for that child.

8. No cars are allowed in the bus lane between 8:15-9:00. There is a parking lot that you can "turn right" into that is located right before the bus lane. Thanks for understanding that student safety is a priority. 

9. Reminder for Dismissal- It is extremely important that any changes to your child's dismissal are communicated to the front office by 2:30 p.m. on the day of the change. For example: if your child is normally a walker, car rider or bus rider and you are changing it to a dismissal from the front office- you must email or call prior to 2:30 p.m. This helps keep our dismissal procedures running smoothly. Thanks for your help.
