Preparation

All staff trains annually in ALICE, a violent intruder response protocol

The district utilizes an Emergency Response Guide (updated annually) created with support from state and local fire, EMS, and police departments

Two Intruder Alert Drills completed with students present in all schools

Annual Tabletop exercise completed in all schools

Monthly Fire Drills completed in all schools

Individual Classroom Safety Plan in all classrooms

Regularly scheduled safety meetings with building-level teams in all schools

Safety bags with emergency equipment and first aid supplies in every classroom and office

Stop the Bleed kits, Narcan, evacuation chairs, and first aid kits are distributed throughout all schools

CPR/First Aid certification training is offered bi-annually to all staff

Reunification plan in place for a mass evacuation in the event of an emergency

Communication plan in place for mass communication to all stakeholders in the event of an emergency

A multi-layered Panic system that immediately notifies 911, locks down exterior doors from entry, only allowing emergency personnel access, and alerts staff via cell phone and audible intruder alert messages in the building

Psychological First Aid and CISM responses are in place for staff and students throughout the district

CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) assessments are completed in every building annually

- Our Child Nutrition program abides by a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plan. This plan is specifically designed to detect and control any potential issues that may arise throughout the food production process. It is employed as a way of safeguarding our food from any potential biological, chemical, or physical risks.

All Child Nutrition managers and cooks are required to be ServSafe certified. ServSafe is a program developed by the National Restaurant Association to aid food handlers in complying with the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) code to ensure public safety.
